Keep mail welcome

SlothBox is intended for adults 18 and older who mutually choose to correspond. Respect that agreement and each person's right to end it.

• Write only to adults who accepted a mail route.
• Do not use SlothBox for threats, harassment, hate, sexual exploitation, spam, or scams.
• Respect a person's boundaries and any closed mail route. Do not try to bypass their decision to stop receiving mail.
• Share invitations through a trusted private channel. An invitation can be forwarded, and the first Apple Account to accept it claims that direction of the route.
• Use another channel for urgent or immediate-safety communication.

The recipient can preserve your words outside the app. Write with that in mind. SlothBox does not send read receipts or provide a guarantee about the recipient's behavior.

Controls and support

Ignore Mail and Close Mail Route give recipients control over what appears in their mailbox. A limited phrase filter works on the sender's device during composition; it does not detect every harmful message or scan incoming letters.

Report Letter asks for your explicit consent before preparing a selected incoming letter and its context as readable report text. You can review that text before opening an email or sharing it. Ben is responsible for handling reports received at this address: sloth-box@benriordan.com. A Mail sent or queued result does not guarantee receipt or review; saving, canceling, or sharing does not prove a report was sent or received. Routine letters are not automatically monitored, and reporting does not close a route.

Ben checks received reports daily. This is human review, not a guarantee of a response within 24 hours. Support/report emails and downloaded copies are deleted 30 days after resolution except when needed for ongoing cases or legal requirements; provider backups follow Proton Mail's retention practices. The privacy policy explains how report email is handled.

Ben can review received report emails and explain recipient controls. Report handling does not include global account bans or deletion of other people's iCloud letters. Use Close Mail Route to stop future mail from appearing and refuse new invitations from the same identity; it does not erase the sender's underlying letters.
